A KPI review should make clear what should be covered by the dashboard. Ideally, each process within the organization is given its own dashboard.
In addition to its substance, form and function are important. A dashboard with visual defects lacks persuasiveness, which may render it useless. A strong visual design can help the user understand something that would otherwise remain unclear. The same is true of functionality. Use of slides, drill-down boxes and option lists should be intuitive.
