KPI Review

The measurement data that really matter
KPI stands for Key Performance Indicator. Web metrics make KPIs measurable and provide insight into the quality and the return from the online channell.

Not everything that can be measured is a KPI
Measurement factors are only considered KPIs if they fulfill the following criteria:

  • Definition: The significance is clear to everyone
  • Expectation: KPIs are always reported in relation to a concrete target.
  • Presentation: Reports on a certain KPI must always indicate the development and any changes compared to a previous measurement period
  • Action: Changes in a KPI must require action. If they do not demand action, the factor measured is not a KPI.

The best way of presenting KPIs is in a dashboard. Dashboard development forms an integral part of a KPI review.

KPIs can be formulated and measured for each process involved in the web channel:

  • Turnover
  • Savings
  • Visitors
  • Interaction
  • Response
  • Performance and stability
  • Client satisfaction
  • Campaigns

What to expect
During a KPI review, we formulate KPIs for all processes in and surrounding the online channel, involving all parties responsible for the relevant processes. Our starting point is that the person responsible for the process should be the owner of the relevant KPIs. The KPI should offer insight into the results of the process, enabling the person responsible to set out a direction.

What is the final result?
You will be provided with a report consisting of the following components:

  • KPIs for all processes comprised in the online channel
  • Gap analysis comparing the existing measurement environment and an environment that is able to report all KPIs
  • Dashboard and report definitions with clear designs regarding the manner of reporting and presenting
  • Plan of approach aimed at achieving the desired measurement environment. This plan of approach can be used as the basis for the selection and implementation of the package

How long does it take and what does it cost?
Most projects can be implemented within a four-week period. For complex web channels with several targets, the costs amount to approximately EUR 12,000. For smaller websites, rates may start at EUR 4,000.
